QR Code Colors & Contrast: What Actually Scans
Use brand colors safely: contrast, error correction, and quiet zone rules.
Safe color rules
- Dark foreground on a light background (ideally black on white).
- Keep the quiet zone: margin 2–4.
- Avoid photo or low-contrast backgrounds behind the code.
Using gradients
Subtle gradients can work if the darkest value remains sufficiently dark. Always test with multiple phones.
With a center logo
Increase error correction to Q or H. Reduce logo size if scans fail.
