How to Print QR Codes for Menus, Flyers, and Business Cards
Printing QR codes is simple, but proper sizing and file type are key for reliable scanning. Here’s how to get sharp, professional results.
1. Use high-resolution formats
Always download in SVG or PDF for print. PNG is fine for screens but may blur when enlarged.
2. Choose the right size
- Business cards: at least 0.8 in (20 mm)
- Flyers: 1.2–2.0 in (30–50 mm)
- Posters: 2.0+ in (50 mm+) — scale up for distance
3. Maintain contrast and margin
Use dark QR code colors on a light background, and keep a 4-module “quiet zone” margin around the code.
4. Test before printing
Always print a sample and scan it under various lighting conditions to confirm readability.
